Dr. Gerald Feuer is
a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and holds
a subspecialty Certification in Gynecologic Oncology.
He is a managing partner of the Southeastern Gynecologic
Oncology Practice, one of the largest practices of
its kind in the United States.
Dr. Feuer graduated from The University of Rochester and attended
The Mount Sinai Medical School. His post-graduate work
was performed at Mount Sinai, Lenox Hill and Sloan-Kettering
Memorial Hospitals, all in New York City and the Health Science Center
in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Feuer met Drs. Walters
and Castillo while they were residents at Macon University
and found that they shared his belief that a relaxed
patient was a happier patient. Says Dr. Feuer, “As
a male doctor, I’ve been very sensitive to the problem of discomfort
during pelvic exams. Clearly the patient is uncomfortable, and I’m
uncomfortable about causing them discomfort and pain.”
He also shared their desire
for change. “It had always been a dream of mine to create something that
yielded a significant contribution to medicine and society. I believe FemSpe™c
could accomplish such a contribution. It addresses
the physical and psychological issues that go along with a pelvic exam.
Further, the fact that FemSpec is available in two sizes allows physicians
a device that works well for the larger women, something that, before
FemSpec, had not been available.”
Dr.
Feuer is a member or associate of, among others, The
American Medical Association, The Association of Professors
in Gynecology & Obstetrics,
The American College of Surgeons, The New England Gynecologic
Oncology Society, The Clinical Oncology Association of Georgia and
The South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr Feuer resides in Atlanta,
Georgia with his wife and their two children.
